Mommy Makes a Cake!!!!

I will update on Ike and our adventure later, when I have more time. Thought you'd like to see what the kids did this evening...

I had to make a cake for a family at church, and the kids wanted to lick the bowl! It was Jack's first time....can you tell, he LOVED it!!!!

Claire couldn't stop licking long enough to smile! Jack thought that cake mix was the BEST treat EVER!!!! Now, go bake a cake and lick the bowl!!! You know you want to!!!!

Hurricane Ike!!! We're "hunkered down"!!!

We are here at home waiting Ike's arrival! Mary and the girls came yesterday! Claire and Jack are in HOG HEAVEN!!! Spencer is at work downtown until.....????? We are all secure and waiting for the wind and rain. Hopefully we'll keep electricity! Will let you know the outcome soon!

Life's a Beach, continued...

Gee had pictures on her camera too, so here are some more pictures from our week long Galveston vacation.

Claire loved burying her feet in the sand, then trying to get them out. Both kids LOVED burying the truck and car in the sand and car washing them in the water!

Daddy must have dug to China while we were at the beach! The kids loved him digging the "moats" around all the castles! Then he had to haul the water to fill up the moats! What a good Daddy!

As I mentioned before, we celebrated Daddy and Paw paw's birthdays in Galveston! Each had a cake with candles! The kids LOVED it! Daddy had his FAVORITE...."dirt cake"!

Paw paw had a chocolate cake. Claire put ALL the candles in and helped Paw blow them out! Then had 2 pieces of birthday cake!!!! Yummy!

While at the beach, the kids discovered the MP3 player with headphones! They loved it! They also played with Paw paw's cart, giving rides to each other!

The resort has 2 beautiful and FUN pools we got to enjoy every day! The kids never wanted to leave them!!!

School Days!

Today was the first day of preschool (4's class) for Claire and the first day ever of Mother's Day Out for Jack Henry! Here are the cuties all ready for school!

I couldn't get Jack Henry to quit doing "sweet eyes" or cheese! You'll like that, Uncle Dan!!!!

Everyone had a great day! Jack cried when I dropped him off, but by the time I left the church, he was playing and having fun! Claire had a wonderful time with many of her friends that she has been in class with since she was 2!!! We are so blessed to have a great church and school for them to go to! Jack even says he wants to go back!!!!
